Cleric admonishes Christians not to pursue signs, tasked to always remain prayerful

Christains all over the country, have been charged to pursue after the things of God as documented in the Bible, rather than miracles and signs that has distracted many Christians.

The Bishop of the new Warri bishopric, Bishop Curtis Fianu gave this charge during the Thanksgiving service of the Church of God Mission, Epkan, Warri to mark the success of the 30 days fasting and prayer organised in the Church.

Bishop Fianu stressed that God did not call us to seek him in vain but rather,  the church should press on the word of God and focus on Christ.

His words “God will do for you what is in His word. You can say you love God without knowing his word. The word of God is God and God is his Word ( Luke 5vs1&11) “.

The cleric admonished the Church not to run after signs  but the Word, as everything they will need in their life is in the Word of God. He further said that Christians should not go after a man that will give them fish but a man that will teach them how to fish.

In a related development, the host pastor, Reverend Dave Edesiri Asifo congratulated the church members on the success of the program ; stating his assurance that their fasting and prayer will

not be in vain.

He therefore encouraged them to keep faith in God and be patient as God has given answers to

every of their supplications.
